Fees on OddsDesk
Trading on OddsDesk can involve two fees. The ticket lists each of them before you sign:
- Platform fee (charged by Polymarket): some markets charge orders that fill at once (taking liquidity). Polymarket sets the rate; it is highest near 50¢ and lowest near 0¢ and 100¢. The part of an order that rests on the book and fills later is not charged. Many markets charge nothing.
- Service fee (charged by OddsDesk): a fixed share of the order value through Polymarket's Builder Program, collected by Polymarket when the order fills: at most 1% for orders that fill at once and at most 0.5% for orders that fill from the book. Nothing is charged if nothing fills.
- Network fees (gas): placing and cancelling orders are signatures, not on-chain transactions, so they need no gas.
- Deposits and withdrawals: handled by a third-party bridging service, which may charge its own fee; the deposit or withdrawal screen shows it.
- Merging shares: turning the Yes and No shares of one market back into funds at $1 a pair is not a sale and costs nothing.
Prediction markets are risky: you can lose everything you put in. Nothing on OddsDesk is investment advice.
